Partial Amendment of Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food additives, etc. & Substances That Are Clearly Not Harmful To Human Health
The Consumers Affairs Agency (CAA) has published on 27 February 2025 (under CAA Notification 130 of 2025) a partial amendment of Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food additives etc. (Act No. 370 of 1959) to revise the maximum residue limits (MRL) of Imicyafos, Cartap, Thiocyclam and Bensultap, Chinomethionat, Dibutylhydroxytoluene, 1-Naphthaleneacetic Acid, Fenpropidin and Fluopyram, based on Article 13, Paragraph 1 of the Food Sanitation Act (Act No. 233 of 1947). Additionally, the notification also amends the List of Substances Specified By The Minister Of Health, Labour And Welfare As Substances That Are Clearly Not Harmful To Human Health Pursuant To The Provision Of Article 13(3) Of The Food Sanitation Act.

Main revisions:
1) Maximum Residue Limits (MRL)
Partial amendments have been made for the MRLs of Imicyafos, Cartap, Thiocyclam and Bensultap, Chinomethionat, Dibutylhydroxytoluene, 1-Naphthaleneacetic Acid, Fenpropidin and Fluopyram.
2) Amendment of List of Substances Specified By The Minister Of Health, Labour And Welfare As Substances That Are Clearly Not Harmful To Human Health Pursuant To The Provision Of Article 13(3) Of The Food Sanitation Act
Addition of Anacardic acid to the list.
Applicable Date:
Amendments 1) shall apply from the date of publication. However, for the below food listed for each agricultural chemical etc., existing standards can still be used within one year from the announcement of this notification.
