[0228 No. 1, 2018] Japan | Partial Amendment of Specifications And Standards for Foods, Food additiv
The Ministry of Health, Labor (MHLW) announced on Feb 28, 2018 (Notification No. 0228 No. 1) the partial amendment of Specifications And Standards for Foods, Food additives, etc. for the following chemicals, DCIP, EPN, Spinetoram, Triforine, Pyraclostrobin, Pyridalyl, Pyribencarb, Fipronil, Fenquinotrione, Buprofezin, Fluthiacet-Methyl and Metaldehyde.
Outline Of Revision
1 The Maximum Residue Level (MRLs) for DCIP, EPN, Spinetoram, Triforine, Pyraclostrobin, Pyridalyl, Pyribencarb, Fipronil, Fenquinotrione, Buprofezin, Fluthiacet-Methyl and Metaldehyde has been established based on the provisions of Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Food Sanitation Act (Act No. 233 of 1952).
2 Based on the provisions of Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Act, the specimen parts used in the analytical method for substances that are ingredients of pesticides remaining in foods has been revised.
Applicable Date:
This amendment shall apply from the day of notice. However, for the specimen parts used in the analytical method of the substances which are ingredients of pesticide etc. remaining in food, the existing standards can still be used within 6months from the announcement day, and food listed for each agricultural chemical etc., existing standards can still be used withing 6 months from the annoucement of this notification.
